What at first appears to be a children’s book with animals set in the English countryside is actually a novel for adults that can also be enjoyed by children. This story tells of the adventures (or
misadventures) of Rat, Mole, Badger, and of course the inimitable Mr. Toad of Toad Hall. We will consider the basic elements of the story, as well as the themes of friendship, loyalty, and home.
