The simple black and white illustrations are pleasant, but not distracting for young readers and children and easily relate to the simple stories and life lessons. These Amish-based publisher has been around for a very long time and this reading series is a long-time favourite among homeschoolers.

The workbooks provide vocabulary lists, grammar/phonetic rules practice and comprehension questions.
